Inicialmente comenzó siendo un rumor, pero al final el publicista de Mark Hollis confirmó que los primeros detalles de su deceso eran una terrible realidad a causa de una enfermedad que nunca desapareció de su cuerpo.
Si bien no quiso entrar en muchos detalles, el fallecimiento de Hollis ha desatado una notable cantidad de tributos y memoriales que hacen énfasis en la relevancia que tiene y seguirá teniendo su trabajo tanto en Talk Talk, como en lo que estuvo haciendo poco antes de anunciar su retiro de la industria.
