Desafortunadamente hace unas horas se dio a conocer el fallecimiento de Joey Jordison a los 46 años de edad, noticia que se siente como un golpe en el estómago luego del impacto que tuvo su trabajo dentro y fuera de Slipknot, pues no solo destacaba por su magistral habilidad al mando de la batería, sino también por las sólidas relaciones humanas que fue construyendo dentro de la música.
Recordemos que Joey no solamente fue una de las piezas clave de Slipknot (no por algo era el #1), pues luego de poner en marcha a Murderdolls, también fue expandiendo sus habilidades musicales al colaborar con bandas como Ministry, Metallica, Rob Zombie, Korn y Satyricon, sin dejar de lado los proyectos que fundó luego de haber sido separado de la banda que marcó su vida durante casi dos décadas como Scar the Martyr y Vimic.
Digamos que no era el tipo de persona que se mantuviera estática, ya que cuando no estaba activo sobre el escenario, también se encargaba de ponerle un toque especial a las composiciones de otras bandas, pues a lo largo de los años llegó a remezclar canciones de Puscifer, Marilyn Manson (teniendo un cameo en el vídeo de «Tainted Love»), y produciendo bandas como 3 Inches Of Blood.
Desde que se dio a conocer su fallecimiento varios músicos, amigos y colaboradores cercanos han estado compartiendo algunos mensajes en sus redes oficiales donde le rinden tributo a uno de los mejores bateristas que han pisado este mundo, pues independientemente de la opinión que puedan tener sobre Slipknot, no se puede negar que fue uno de los más brillantes.
