El nombre de Damon Albarn ha estado más que presente desde principios de los 90 al formar parte de una de las bandas más importantes de Inglaterra: Blur, nombre que le dio vuelta al mundo con Albarn para fortalecer por completo la concepción del brit-pop. Pero sus logros no se estancaron en un sólo nombre sino que luego de una desgastada relación con Graham Coxon y la ruptura con su novia Justine Frischmann, inició otro proyecto que lo llevaría nuevamente a encabezar las mejores propuestas del 2000 con Gorillaz.
Albarn es considerado uno de los mejores músicos de nuestros tiempos y con ello ha logrado grandes colaboraciones a lo largo de su carrera como lo fue con Paul Simonon, bajista de The Clash, con quien formó otro de sus proyectos más exitosos bajo el nombre de The Good, the Bad & the Queen, y con Flea, de Red Hot Chili Peppers, con quién creó Rocket Juice & the Moon.
La inquietud de Albarn lo ha llevado a experimentar dentro de su propia música hasta el punto de entregar un material solista, Everyday Robots, demostrando que su gusto por la composición va más allá de la fama, porque a este punto de la vida ese es un detalle que sale sobrando.
Para hacer una retrospectiva de su carrera, decidimos clavarnos en algunos de los momentos más consistentes de su discografía para seleccionar sus 15 mejores letras (O bueno… algunas de sus mejores, la verdad es que tiene un montón).
